RBI runs your web browsing in a remote, isolated environment — a disposable container in the cloud or a data centre — instead of directly on the user's device. The user sees and interacts with the page normally, but only a safe visual stream reaches their machine; the actual web code executes far away. If a site is malicious, it can only harm the throwaway container, which is destroyed when the session ends. Nothing dangerous ever touches the endpoint.

Web filtering tries to decide whether a site is safe and block the ones it judges bad — which means it can be wrong, especially for brand-new or cleverly disguised threats. Isolation doesn't need to judge: it treats every page as potentially hostile and runs it away from your device regardless. Filtering reduces what you visit; isolation changes where the risky code runs. They work well together — filter the obviously bad, isolate the uncertain.
